Heather Hunt

Heather has been practicing yoga for most of her life. Her mother tells her she used to sleep in child's pose. Later, enrolled in dance classes, Heather fell in love with a teacher who led the class through many stretches and breath-work that she now realizes was very yoga-inspired. So, when she found yoga later in life, it came naturally to her. Heather has been practicing avidly since 2001. Even though the practice ebbs and flows she always returns.

Heather knows that the work done in yoga can transform your life. She encourages her students to use their practice to really come inside and let go of the chaos that goes on in their daily lives. Heather believes we are all capable of far more than we think we are, and challenges her students beyond what they perceive as limitations. Heather has completed a 50 hour American Council on Exercise approved yoga teacher training, a 20 hour Prenatal Teacher Training Course, and a 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher Training Course. She asks that all students come to yoga with an open heart and an open mind. – Namaste, Heather

Cam Mahon

Prana (breath)...no breath, no yoga! Breath is the life force and vital energy that keeps the body alive and the mind strong. This is what attracted Cam to yoga and she has been a committed student since 2006. Being a practitioner of Power Vinyasa yoga and graduate of a teacher training program in that style, Cam brings passion and commitment to her practice, teaches with an open heart and hopes to share that with her students.

In her classes, expect to use the breath to cultivate mindfulness of and connection to yourself and the world. Cam encourages her students to be mindful of the purpose of yoga: using the physical body to transform the mind. Having been a witness to yoga's transformative powers, Cam is inspired and humbled to share the insights of her practice with students and to honor the traditions of Yoga. Namaste.

Shannon Shellenberg

Shannon began her yogic journey 11 years ago when, at her very first class, an amazing teacher looked into her soul and corrected her posture - - pushing her chin back and saying, “You think too much, lead with your heart, not with your head.” With many bumps along the way, she has been working to do so ever since. Shannon has a rigorous daily personal practice, and has studied Iyengar and Bikram yoga in addition to Power Vinyasa.

She has a certification in physically assisting students and recently completed a 200 hr. Yoga Alliance certified teacher training at a studio in Midtown under her teachers Anne Marie Kramer and Bill Prysock. She teaches Power Vinyasa classes, which incorporate strength, flexibility and breath work. She hopes to encourage her students to lead with their heart and discover the beauty and bliss of yoga together.

Jennifer Skondin

Jennifer has been practicing yoga since 2001, and in 2009, decided to dedicate her future to the practice. She completed her 200-hr Registered Yoga Teacher certification through a local Sacramento studio and now teaches a vigorous Baptiste-style Power Vinyasa Yoga Flow. Jennifer’s teaching style deeply reflects her personal nature: strong and nurturing, playful and balanced, energetic and loving.

Jennifer is a student at heart. She is constantly exploring different styles of yoga to expand her personal practice and integrate into her classes. She frequently travels to the Bay Area to practice and study with Janet Stone and Rusty Wells; she brings experiences from years of practice with Bikram Yoga and gentle Hatha flow; and has explored Anusara with John Friend, PranaFlow with Shiva Rea, and the Yogic Arts with Duncan Wong.

Jennifer has a BA in Government-Journalism from CSU Sacramento, and spent several years of working in the political field representing elected officials and environmental causes. She left that arena to dedicate more time to yoga, her friends, family, and life. In addition to teaching and practicing yoga, she currently works part-time as a graphic artist and consultant.

Summer Ward

My journey on the Yoga path began about eight years ago when I started taking classes at the local gym.  I immediately connected with a physical practice that was non-competitive and allowed me to go inward; focusing on my breath and quieting my mind.  I was intrigued. I eventually participated in a weekend training which led to teaching Yoga and Pilate's at the gym.  After a year, I was still searching for a spiritual aspect and sense of community within my practice.  I took a significant break and after a while vowed to return to the study of Yoga. I eventually found the support, community, and depth I was looking for at a Power Vinyasa at a local studio.

After having participated in workshops, assisting programs, and teacher training, I feel much more confidant in delivering an honest and better-rounded experience.  I look forward to my continued study of Yoga at different studios and in its many forms and styles.  I hope to share my experiences in my classes with an emphasis on personal discovery and growth. ~Summer .
